The Challenge
RS Components, a global distributor in the electronics and industrial sector, wanted to improve conversion performance on key product detail pages. Despite significant traffic volumes and investment in Adobe Analytics and Adobe Target, the team found it difficult to connect real-time customer behavior with actionable messaging at scale. Traditional promotions and static personalization strategies weren’t producing measurable uplift. They needed a way to make the customer experience more responsive and trustworthy—without introducing operational overhead or slowing down site performance.
The Solution
RS partnered with DMPG to deploy Proofit, integrating seamlessly into their existing Adobe stack. Using behavioral signals from Adobe Analytics and deploying real-time messages through Adobe Target, RS was able to showcase live social proof across high-impact product pages. Messages such as:
- “12 people purchased this product today”
- “Only 4 units left in stock”
- “This product is trending right now”
…were dynamically triggered based on real user data and tested using existing experimentation tools. The entire deployment was completed within two weeks, with no additional tracking tags or data infrastructure required.
This agile approach allowed RS to test variations of social proof messaging, personalize by product category, and align messages with campaign goals—all without developer intervention. Proofit’s logic engine ensured only high-quality, credible messages were shown, maintaining user trust and brand integrity.
The Results
Within just four months, RS Components saw more than $3 million in incremental revenue attributable to the social proof campaign. Conversion rates significantly increased on product pages where Proofit messaging was active, with reduced abandonment and stronger engagement signals observed in Adobe Analytics.
This initiative quickly became one of RS’s most successful digital experiments of the year—delivering tangible ROI with minimal complexity. More importantly, it validated that real-time behavioral reinforcement, when done well, can materially impact business performance at scale.
